Information about our services
Limousines
Our limousines will seat five persons in comfort. Please inform us as soon as possible of your requirements.
Flowers
Flowers may be sent to our premises prior to the funeral. If several are received they will be listed and the list given to the relatives.
Donations
We are willing to receive donations sent for named charities and will provide relatives with a list of donors.
Newspaper Notices
We will be pleased to help compile death notices for insertion in local or national newspapers. We will also insert acknowledgement notices if requested.
Service Chapel
The service chapel at our Albert Street premises will seat 28 and services can be held there before going to the Cemetery or Crematorium. An organ is available if required. There are also playback facilities for recorded music.
Attendance at a Funeral Service
When relatives wish to know the names of those attending a funeral service, we are happy to arrange for names to be taken as people arrive and to provide a typed list for relatives. There is an additional charge for this service.
Private Chapels
Anyone wishing to pay their last respects may visit the Chapel of Rest from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.30 pm, or Saturday 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Visits to our Chapel of Rest at Collingham are by appointment only.
Funeral Costs
A full scale of charges is provided from the Simplest to the most elaborate. Because funeral arrangements are entirely a matter of personal need and preference, the only sure way of receiving specific information is by discussion with the funeral director. Enquiries can be made entirely without obligation and in the strictest confidence.
We make all payments to Clergy, Cemetery or Crematorium, Doctors, Newspapers and any other disbursements as required and itemise them on our account.
N.A.F.D.
We are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors whose constant aim is to improve the standards and knowledge of its members and their service to the public.
Providing for the Future
Some people wish to make provision for their funeral in advance. With this in mind we are now able to offer the 'E. Gill & Sons Ltd., Funeral Prepayment Plan'. There is a choice of three plans and prices. Should you require further information, we would be pleased to supply a comprehensive brochure.
Memorials
A memorial is the only piece of artwork that most people will commission in a lifetime. Our own monumental mason will be able to help you select the type of stone, the shape, colour, style of lettering and wording that will be most appropriate for your commemoration. We will also take care of all the formalities and install the memorial in accordance with local regulations.
